You can’t write your name on the rain 40H x 40W x 4D cm Acrylic on canvas Sold
In the rain series I saw the rain as semen or the start of new life. But today it stands for tears. Tears for life lost and unanswered questions. When I was born I was adopted and a lot of questions haven’t been answered. Recently I uploaded my DNA and it seems I have a lot of DNA matches. Perhaps I will unravel the story of my early past.
If you see me getting smaller, I’m leaving 120H x 150W x 4D cm Acrylic on canvas € 1895
In the series Rain I made another painting with slightly visible the logo of Cruise Port of Rotterdam underneath. The title refers to the logo getting smaller and smaller. For me it represents the end of a joyful time at my former employer, they had to let me go because of the malaise concerning COVID.
I enjoyed painting the rain and choosing which colour to add.
Rhythm of rain 80W x 100H x 4D cm Acrylic on canvas Sold
Missing one of the paintings I sold I decided to make a smaller version.
This time with even more paint.
I enjoy the rhythm of the rain and especially the rhythm painting the stripes. Having lots of time because of Covid-19 I find peace in repeating the pattern.
All the colours aligned 160W x 120H x 2D cm Acrylic on canvas € 1995
The first large canvas I’ve worked. I enjoy to fill the large white canvas with colour.
Still not finished with my rain collection I used all the colours I’ve got at that moment. Although there’s no underlaying city plan (I started this painting some time ago) I still see many things in the combination of the different rain drops.
You ain't seen nothing yet 120H x 100W x 4D cm Acrylic on canvas € 1550
This time a larger canvas with slightly visible the outlining of the river the Maas in Rotterdam.
I enjoy scaling the city plan and drawing the lines to conceal the river.
The painting has many layers of paint in a variety of my favourite colours.
Port of Rotterdam 50H x 50W x 4D cm Acrylic on canvas 675 €
I decided to make something different, but in the line of the previous paintings. The combination of the paintings with city plans and the rain collection, resulted in a interesting combination.
For those who know the city of Rotterdam and the river the Maas, it might be clearly visible. But I tried to made it not that obvious.
The transparency of the city plan in combination with the stripes and the colours give me great satisfaction.
Aint no wheels on this ship 100W x 80H x 2D cm Acrylic on canvas € 1150
Inspired by the Cruise Port of Rotterdam I started to paint the logo of ‘Port of Rotterdam’ in a bright colour and the background in another colour. Than I painted many layers of stripes with acrylic paint until the background was only just visible.
The loneliness of the Euromast 80W x 100H x 2D cm Acrylic on canvas € 1150
Another icon of the city Rotterdam. This time the Euromast tower. Standing firm and proud in the park, the tower represents the solid heart of Rotterdam.
Several layers of paint in my favourite colours cover the tower, just shimmering through.
