The Dutch word for pendulum”is slinger. A party decoration. Ivo preferred the English word wisp. It has a mysterious ring to it, which works well with the painting. Although it was not his intention to paint a celebration.

White canvasses always invite me to start painting. This time much smaller as usual. I wanted to see if the effect of twists on a small canvas gives the same satisfaction as on large canvas.

Wisps in blue 40H x 40W x 4D cm Acrylic on canvas SOLD
a variation on wisps I painted earlier. This time with phthalo blue as basis.
I started of with a a white background and black lines, but it didn’t work. Covering it in my favourite blue and using a white marker gave a nice effect. I was hesitant to do it, but the result is peculiar. I like it very much. The small dots of colour ad something peculiar to the painting.
The painting is ready to hang on the wall. Sides of the painting are painted as well, so it is not framed.
I named it ‘wisps” again, because it represents the work.

I like the colors, painting it made me relax and concentrate. Often after work I spend many hours trying different colors, trying to cover the colors I thought didn’t match.
